POLICY WRITING WORKSHOP
Our policy writing workshop was a great success! Many of you attended or later watched this event to get allll of Marcel’s (the guest speaker) tips. We learned more about how to structure, research and write a publish-worthy policy paper which is of relevance to all european horizons members.
2ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 2022-23 BOARD
In this meeting, the heads of the EuH x UvA committees presented the past achievements of this chapter and guided the other members into the goals for the upcoming rest of the year. Several engaging workshops were announced, and new internal events were too.
PUB QUIZ NIGHT
EuH x UvA needs to have fun from time to time too! This is why the lovely members of the Social Committee organised this quiz night at Café Fest. The trivia questions varied from topics of film, and music, to the EU and finally, of our chapter itself. However, only one team won, but we certainly all had a great time.
UVA X NYU PANEL: DEMOCRACY IN DANGER? A TRANSATLANTIC PERSPECTIVE ON THE RECENT EVENTS IN THE US
The European Horizons chapters in Amsterdam and at New York University have joined forces to discuss the traditional notion of democracy, in light of the imminent inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden, the January attack on the Capitol and Trump’s removal from Twitter, focusing on the US and European perspectives, drawing parallels to threats to democracy in the EU and assessing how it will impact transatlantic relations.
THINK TANKS AND POLICY-MAKING
This informative session was led by our guest speaker Maria Freitas, Senior Policy Advisor at the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS). She talked to us about what Think Tanks exactly are, what their importance in the policy-making process at the EU level is, and about her own experience in the field.
UNICEF X EUROPEAN HORIZONS
In alignment with the upcoming International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 🚺, the UNICEF Student Team Amsterdam and European Horizons Amsterdam are proud to present the event “Violence against Women during Migration”. 🌍

Our members had a great time at this year’s Digital Economy Youth Summit in Cambridge! From connecting with students from other EuH Chapters, to listening to interesting guest speakers and participating in workshops; it was a blast🇪🇺🥂
